SCAD Beezzzzz Nest

i designed this image for a color theory class while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. The assignment was to create two identical images-with the exception of using the different color schemes we learned about in class-side by side to illustrate how each color scheme affects the same image. I used tempera paint and a monochromatic color scheme, the color red for the first image and the color blue for the second image.
The College Baseball Life

I painted this for my Drawing II class while i was attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. The assignment was to put together a still life that would tell a story without using words and then paint that still life using india ink. This image consists of my SCAD baseball hat, a baseball, my turf baseball shoe, and my MCC key chain. The key chain was only partially completed.

SHCF Woman's Ministry Logo

The pastor's wife at Shepherd's Heart Christian Fellowship asked me to design a logo for the Woman's Ministry there. i made several sketches while looking at a rose to try to make the W and the M look like rose petals. I drew this using oil pastels making it harder to have precision and detail in the drawing but I wanted the soft affect oil pastels provide. The green from the stem became smudged at some point because it has not been stored in a proper fashion.

SKETCHES:
How My Mind Works
I Shall Fear No Man

A close friend of mine came to me and asked me to design a tattoo for him that would say "I Shall Fear No Man." I came up with the concept of the tree spelling out these words. I was thinking about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil from the Bible.
God Understands Me

The same close friend asked me to design a tattoo with the words "God Understands me." In this sketch i was working on designing the lettering.
Ghost Face Killah

i'm kind of hazy on how this one came about. I think I was either really bored in class one day at MCC or at my apartment while I was attending the Savannah College of Art and Design so I decided to design an image out of the letters of the name Ghost Face Killah, a rapper from the Wu-Tang Clan. The G makes up most of the outside of the first face, the H and the O make up the eyes, the S makes up part of the outside outline of the face and the S along with the T make a trail back into space to make it look like the face is coming toward you. The F makes up the left side of the second face, the A makes up the right eye, the nose, mouth, and chin, the C makes up part of the forehead, and the C and E together create the appearance of a trail back into space to make it look like the second face is also flying toward you. The word Killah is spelled out under the two "ghost faces."
Woman's Ministry Sketches

In these two sketches I was playing with the idea of making the W and the M in the words "Woman's Ministry" look like a flame or fire, the concept being "Women who are On Fire for God." Although I don't think I accomplished that goal very well, i did like the affect created by the other letters of the words "Woman's Ministry" while I was experimenting with designing text that would look like smoke coming off of the flame. This idea could definitely use more sketches to develop and perfect it.
