This Book is a MUST READ for all Christians living in the west!!!

ISLAM AND TERRORISM by Mark A. Gabriel is the most informative, authoritative, and thorough book on Islam I have ever read. The author immediately establishes his credentials and expertise in the subject of Islam by sharing his early life story leading up to a personal testimony of how he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and then revealing how this single crucial decision would drastically change his life forever. He begins this journey by informing the reader he is originally from the Middle East, specifically Egypt. While living in Egypt he claims to have memorized the entire Quran by the age of twelve, earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees studying Islam, and taught Islamic history as a professor at Al-Azhar University-the oldest and most prestigious university in the Islamic world-all while serving as an imam for a local mosque on the weekends.

While teaching and preaching the politically correct version of Islam acceptable to the secular Egyptian government, he struggled to reconcile this peaceful Islam of love, kindness, and forgiveness with the Quran's call for muslims to violence and murder against anyone who will not submit to Allah. Looking to the Quran for answers, he began to ask himself why Allah would contradict himself or change his mind so much. When the university discovered he was questioning Islam and the Quran with his students he was called into a meeting in which he was spit on, called a blasphemer and a bastard, and fired after admitting, "I can no longer say that the Quran comes directly from heaven or from Allah. This cannot be the revelation of the true God." At 3am the following morning the Egyptian secret police barged in to his home with Russian Kalashnikov assault weapons and kidnapped him while his parents, brothers, and their wives and children watched helplessly in terror. He says he was taken to a place that looked like a prison, placed in a cell, and given no food or water for 3 days before they finally began to interrogate him to coerce him to confess to betraying Islam and converting to Christianity. As his interrogators pressured him to divulge who had converted him-demanding he tell them what pastor he had talked to and what church he had been visiting-they burned the back of his hand and his lips with with a cigarette and later his arm with a red hot fire poker in an effort to get the answers they wanted. When he did not answer to their satisfaction they began to torture him. Strapped down to a steel bed with what he describes as oven mitt-like stockings covering his legs they began whipping his feet. When he cried out in pain they covered his face with a pillow. The pain was so great he claims to have lost consciousness, but when he regained consciousness the officer was still whipping his feet. When they finally untied him, they commanded him to stand, but when at first he could not, they whipped his back until he stood. They then forced him to run back and forth down a hallway several times, whipping him at each end. As if this was not enough he was also forced by whip to stay in ice cold pool of water until he passed out, left overnight in another tank of water-up to his shoulders-with hungry rats hoping they would begin to bite at his head, and lastly forced into an empty room with a big dog. Because the rats did not bite him and the dog did not attack him but instead acted almost lovingly and protective toward him the officers were astonished, one even confessing, "There is an unseen power standing behind this man and protecting him." At the same time the author's faith in the god of Islam was greatly shaken because of what his interrogators had done to him in the name of Allah, but he was also asking himself, "What is going on here? What power is protecting me?" Upon his release he lived for a year believing in God but now knowing who He was of how to find Him. His physical body expressed the turmoil he felt in his spirit, manifesting itself through chronic fatigue and constant headaches. A doctor scanned his brain but could find nothing wrong. After visiting a local pharmacist several times to pick up tablets the doctor had prescribed for his headaches, the pharmacist finally asked him, "What is going on in your life?" Confessing, "I am living without God. I don't know who created me and who created the universe" he then asked "How can I fill the emptiness in my heart?" The pharmacist offered him a bible. Arriving home he began to read the Bible, losing track of time as he compared and contrasted it with the teachings of the Quran. Convinced he had finally encountered the living God, he gave his life to Christ at dawn the next morning. He would soon reap the consequences of this crucial life decision. On the street in front of a grocery store he was stabbed repeatedly by two men in long traditional white robes, long beards, and head coverings until the police arrived and the men ran away. Later, upon confessing his new found faith to his father and the hope that his family would someday also accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, his father cried out in rage, "Your brother is a convert! I must kill him today!' pulling out his gun and firing at him, while he ran for his life. Fleeing to his sister's house he asked her to collect his passport and clothes from his fathers house. Leaving his homeland as an Infidel to the Islamic faith, his life has been under the constant threat of the sword of Islam ever since.
